Kaleo and I met up with Ami + Riley at Macy’s Cafe in Flagstaff. We had such wonderful conversations getting to know each other. They are both from Arizona. They were born in the same hospital, on the same day!!! HOW COOL + ROMANTIC IS THAT?! They realized this after they met and started dating in high school. After high school, they moved to Kansas together for college. Eventually, they found their way to back to AZ, and are super excited to get married in beautiful Sedona, Arizona!
Once we got our caffeine fix and a bite to eat, we ventured up towards Humphrey's Peak to do a beautiful, sunset, engagement photoshoot nestled amongst the wildflower meadows and pine and aspen forests! They had mentioned they had never gotten professional photos in the 7 years they have been together thus far. Kaleo and I were stoked that we got to break that statistic for them! We loved photographing these two because they are both so sweet and down to earth. We especially enjoyed witnessing their transformation from being a bit unsure of themselves in front of the camera, to warming up, and finally just OWNING the spotlight. The love they share is so obvious and made it a breeze to photograph, I mean just look at these photos!
Ever since the first phone call, it's been nothing but fun and easy working with Michelle. I could immediately tell that she was organized but also super upbeat and chill at the same time. It wasn't surprising to find Casey to also be awesome too!
Kaleo and I met Casey and Michelle in person right before our photo shoot at Indian gardens Cafe to learn about their story. Michelle and Casey experienced their first dance together in middle school. They always had eyes on each other and ended up dating in high-school. They decided to go on separate paths after high school. Casey decided to go to the armed forces while Michelle pursued her degree in college. Both experienced dating other people but in the end, fate brought them back together again.
Their engagement session took place at one of my favorite trails... West Fork Trail! It was a beautiful sunny day with the clouds moving in and out to provide filtered light that made all the colors in nature pop! One of our favorite parts of the photoshoot was incorporating some of the props that Michelle cleverly brought. BUBBLES were so much fun and got everyone laughing =) and I LOVED photographing scrabble words to spell out CONNOR in their hands. We are super happy with how the photos turned out because the bright sunflowers and natural beauty of west fork trail compliment their upbeat bubbly personality and special bond.
When we first met at ASU, I noticed that Daniella was the nicest one in the class and that she was stylish, outgoing, positive, and eager to learn about art and photography. We naturally became fast friends while pursuing our Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography.
The other things that Dani and I have in common is a love for outdoors, dogs and we are both in steady, long-term relationships. Kaleo and I occasionally met up with Andy and Dani to get a drink together, but we were all so busy, with school and work, it was a rare occurrence. After school, they moved to Oregon and we headed north to Sedona, only to stay in touch via Instagram.
I was practically jumping up and down when she messaged me that she and Andy were coming through Arizona and wanted to get together. She offered to take engagement photos of Kaleo and me, and I, of course, wanted to photograph their beautiful faces too!
Dani and Andy just finished hiking the first half of the Pacific Crest Trail right before we met up. I chose to do their photos at the McDowell mountains in Scottsdale Arizona because it was the perfect backdrop for such an adventurous couple!
Gillian grew up along the creekside of Sedona Oak Creek Canyon and so it was super sweet to do a couples maternity session with her and Jason in Oak Creek Canyon! Jason and Gillian met in Australia and at the moment they call Australia home. They both have relative in California and Arizona and so try to visit the States when possible.
I had a fabulous time photographing Jason and Gillian at the magical West Fork Trail in Sedona Arizona! It was easy to tell they are a perfect match and soon to be amazing parents! It was a beautiful sunny day amongst the apple orchard and I absolutely photographing Gillian in her adorable over-alls! Even better it was clear that Jason is crazy about her just by the looks and kisses he would give her.
Kaleo gave me a super romantic proposal. Let’s start with the shorter version for my engagement story =) He proposed to me on our last day in Costa Rica. In the morning, I got a massage and time to hang out at the beach. In the evening, Kaleo and I rode off into the sunset on horses and, when we stopped along the beach, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said, "Yes!", and he picked me up and swung me around. That night we had a fantastic dinner at a five star Italian restaurant in Puerto Viejo, called La Pecora Nera. When we got back to the hotel, he led me out to the beach where candles that spelled out, “Marry me?”, next to a small bonfire and a big blanket to sit on.

Who doesn’t love a great coffee shop?! I know I do. I also know our new clients Raimie and Rob love a good coffee shop. When I suggested the lovely Creekside Coffee in Sedona for our consultation meeting they knew exactly which coffee shop I was talking about. They had been there before on one of their prvious dates to Sedona.
Right away, I felt a great connection to them both. They smiled a lot, laughed a lot, and were so easy to
converse with. It felt like it was match made in heaven to be working with them! After a little getting-to-
know-you conversation, we decided to plan the engagement photos.
"The path to love is our spiritual destiny." Deepak Chopra
This beautiful quote fits this soon-to- be bride and groom quite nicely because it was their spirituality, common values and mutual friends that first brought them together to begin walking their path to love.
Right away I knew I would get along well with this fun couple because they had recently gotten a German Shepard pup, which means we’re both dog people! I was extremely excited when Laura Marolakos ,from Heart of Sedona Weddings, asked me if i'd be available to photograph Rachel and Christopher's engagement photos with their new puppy in August followed by their intimate elopement in Sedona January 2018.
