Costa Rica is by far one of my favorite places in the world due to their lush tropical environment, the thousands of plants and animals, the opportunity to practice my Spanish, the fun latin music and culture, and the AMAZING fresh food!
First, we stayed in a small town less then an hour outside of San Jose called Ujarrás. The B&B we chose called Villas Valle Bello had beautiful views of lakes and rolling hills and lots of banana trees on the property.
I was so excited to enjoy the traditional Costa Rican breakfast called Gallo Pinto. Usually this includes Rice and Beans, scrambled eggs and toast. Of course we had lots of fresh coffee. I can thank Costa Rica for even becoming a coffee drinker in the first place. Their coffee is so good and that is why we decided to visit an Organic Coffee Plantation right away.
You can by her Organic Coffee roasted at the farm at http://www.cafecristina.com/
After Ujarras we made it to Puerto Viejo!
The fist nights in Puerto Viejo we stayed at a BnB
Comfy Couples Room in Playa Chiquita + Breakfast!
Private room hosted by Macarena
Every day we spent time walking along the beach and swimming in the ocean! Beach life = the good life!
We visited the Jaguar Rescue Center! The center is dedicated to the rehabilitation of mistreated, injured, orphaned, and/or confiscated animals. They usually have a lot of adult and baby sloths there because unfortunately the sloths do not know the difference between power lines and trees. They often get electrocuted =(
Costa Rica is also known for fresh chocolate. There are a lot of amazing chocolate restaurants and cafe's that serve fresh sipping chocolate! YUMMY
