"The path to love is our spiritual destiny." Deepak Chopra
This beautiful quote fits this soon-to- be bride and groom quite nicely because it was their spirituality, common values and mutual friends that first brought them together to begin walking their path to love.
I chose Sedona’s West Fork trail as our location for it’s shady path along Oak Creek, which is dotted by picturesque backdrops everywhere. After all one must stop along the way to enjoy things, right? Although the soon to be groom was camera shy at first, it became easier and more fun for both of them to make each other laugh, smile, and be affectionate the further we walked down the path. Just like any good relationship grows so did our journey together that day. The bride-to- be had past experiences with portrait shoots but admitted it's much more fun to take photos as a couple. Life seems to be that way too. Doesn’t it?
We were able to capture so many loving and playful photos along the creek’s path. As we traveled along together I could see the open and welcoming nature they share. I watched her energy soar and his calm balanced it out. Then, I learned that besides their regular jobs in Phoenix they lead spiritual retreats together. Perfect! I'm looking forward to joining them again on their path to love at their wedding this October being held right across the street from their Phoenix home. It will be non-traditional affair focused on a spiritual ceremony with friends and family surrounding them in a circle. How wonderfully inclusive, intimate, and just exactly who they are.
